Background on Fujitsu Asia


1. How long has Singapore been the regional headquarters for Fujitsu Asia?
Fujitsu Asia was established in Singapore in 1997 to provide leadership in technology innovation and customer support as the regional headquarter for the Fujitsu group of companies in ASEAN. The headquarter functions has been greatly enhanced since April 2004, when Fujitsu Asia began to function as the administrative, logistical, strategic business development, marketing and sales hub for the ASEAN region. Such an expanded role has made Fujitsu Asia a more vibrant hub for its regional businesses and shared services for the Fujitsu Asia Group companies in the region.

2. What operational functions does Fujitsu Asia have in Singapore?

Please see answer to Q2 above. Fujitsu Asia has strengthened its regional headquarter role with the consolidation of its resources in the region. Regional management, sales and support functions are established and based in Singapore to oversee the business operations and activities in the region.

3. In which other countries does Fujitsu Asia have offices in?

Fujitsu Asia Group companies are in Singapore (RHQ), Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
 
4. What is the latest sales turnover or revenue figures for the company?

Fujitsu Asia recorded about US$600 million in revenue for FY06 (ending Mar 06), of which half comes from the ICT business which encompasses managed services, systems integration, outsourcing, server/storage sales and other areas. The other half of revenue contributions come from the hard disk drive business.
 
5. What are the future plans of Fujitsu Asia?
Fujitsu is the world’s No.3 player in IT services and Fujitsu Asia targets to be a significant ICT player in the ASEAN region. Outsourcing is an important part of our growth strategy for Fujitsu in ASEAN. We will primarily focus on data center and desktop services in the region as part of the suite of managed services. In addition, marketing efforts will also be aligned towards achieving growth in areas such as IP network solutions and services.
